Hello! My name is Shelbie Schoenborn and I am a junior at Coopersville High School in Coopersville, MI. Academically, I am an honors student in the top 12.5% of my class. I was inducted into the National Honor society in October, 2021. I am also a Congress Delegate in the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists. This Congress is an honors-only program for high school students who want to become Physicians or go into medical research fields. It is to give me guidance and mentorship to help me reach my goals. I am currently enrolled in two AP Collegiate courses; I am also enrolled in a dual enrollment class through Muskegon Community College. I thank God for my family, His grace, and my opportunities in education to help me grow as a person.
I have dreamed to be in the medical field. As a delegate in the Congress of Future Medical Leaders, I am more motivated, inspired, and directed toward my medical goals by the top doctors in the country. After the Congress, I can reach these goals by committing to your medical programs and also by continuing my love of Volleyball. My education and sports have been so important to me as I grow and mature. I would love to be part of your competitive volleyball team as I continue my education.
As an athlete, I have been playing Volleyball since my middle school years. I played on the Varsity team for the past three years and was blessed to receive "up and coming" in my Freshman year and Honorable Mention in my sophomore year. I received the MIP award in my sophomore season. In this past 2021 season, I received the MIP award in addition to making all area 2nd dream team. I have played club volleyball for three years. All three years, I have been on the top National team. In the winter season, I was moved up to an 18’s Steel 2nd National team from the 17's division. In the spring season, I am now playing in 17 Black, top National team for our club.
I am a versatile positioned player. I played as RS hitter as a freshman in high school; I played as the setter in my sophomore year in High School. My junior year, my main position was all across front row- middle and opposite being my strong sides - I also played all around in some games. On my 18 National Club Team, I played all positions. I played all around Pass/receive and RH/opposite, and I also set in one game in my last tournament - I was listed as OS and RS Hitter. Currently, I play all around in my 17's team - However, for our 1st tournament, my coach moved me to setter. I will also be setting in 2022 AAU Nationals in Orlando, FL.
I would love the opportunity to show you my desire to excel in both my academics and athletics.
