Personal Statement
My name is Jessica Vedbraaten. Playing sports at the collegiate level has been a long time goal of mine and would elevate my game. What I will bring to a team will be my ability to hit from anywhere, a quick defensive response, and anticipation of the opponent's moves. I believe being left handed sets me aside from the other players because I am a powerful hitter coming out of the middle or outside, and most left handed players are setters or right sides. Being a well-rounded athlete is important to me and I am a starting player in varsity basketball and track as well as volleyball. By the time I graduate I will have lettered thirteen times. A strong work ethic both in sports and in the classroom is important to me as is the type of character I present to my teammates, teachers, family and friends. I work hard to be the type of person that can be counted on to always do what is best for my team and my community. I feel my recent induction into the National Honor Society as well as being named a co-captain for the 2015 volleyball season helps to illustrate how my commitment to goals has paid off. I am proud of what I have achieved at the high school level up to this point and am driven by those achievements to see what more I can accomplish in the future.
