Hello, my name is Kyley Widmer. I have been playing volleyball practically since I was born because my older sisters played and I would always play with them. I think I would make a good candidate for your team because I try to lift my team up when they get down, I try to let them know that it wasn't their fault and that they can get it next time, and that overall they just got it!! I think something that makes me different from other front row players is that I am 5'5 not the typical height for a front-row player. Being shorter than others has taught me to work for it and work hard for everything. Well playing volleyball I have learned that I am a pretty forgiving person and I've learned that you can't stay upset about losing a point you just have to brush it off and come back stronger. A pretty large obstacle I've had to overcome is that when I started growing when my calf muscles and Achilles tendon didn't grow with my bones. this led to them being extremely tight and causing extreme pain whenever I would play volleyball. after 7 years of this chronic pain, I decided to get surgery where they lengthened them. This has also taught me that I never should take volleyball for granted. it also showed me that I should be very appreciative of any playing time I can get because you never know if that could your last game. My current weighted GPA is 2.97. Going into my third trimester of freshman year i have been completely devoting myself to school. I had some setbacks my freshman year and i will openly admit that. I now put my studies first and my GPA is climbing every trimester.
