Hello! Thank you for giving me an opportunity to tell you about myself. My name is Kate Diedrich and I am a incoming junior at St. Joseph's Academy in St. Louis, MO. I am the kid that every coach or teacher warns you about. I am the kid in the classroom or on the court that works a little, sometimes a lot, harder than anyone else. What I lack in talent I make up with sheer grit and determination and while I might have a set back here and there it is nothing that will stop me from pursuing my desires. My parents were both athletes in high school and have both spent years coaching so I have been blessed with parents who didn't coddle me but rather told me to go and earn it. I find that my tenacious and gracious personality translates well in the classroom as well as the court and my coaches and teachers both appreciate my dedication to improving and pushing myself to be the best I can be. They also know that I am the kid that isn't afraid to speak up when I need a little extra assistance.
I am a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and a Campus Ministry Representative at St. Joseph's Academy. My freshman year I received the award of "Sr. Mary de Paul Berra Best All-Around Student" and my sophomore year I received the “Future Historian Award. It is such an honor to receive such awards at St. Joseph's Academy because I am surrounded by incredibly brilliant and talented young women! I also served as the captain of the Freshman St Joseph’s Academy Volleyball Team and was the captain of my club volleyball team last year.
I am a person of extremely high character. I am a very determined, gracious, intelligent, and kind person who believes in helping those around me whether it is in the classroom, gym, or in my community. I have been increasingly involved with Good Shepherd and Family Services. My father learned late in life that he was adopted when his mother passed away seven years ago. In his pursuit of finding his biological parents our family has become involved with the efforts of Good Shepherd. We participate in an annual golf tournament and recently I have begun a project in which I collect new or gently used clothing for foster families within Good Shepherd. It is an amazing gift to be able to share and help those who are doing such wonderful work.
My desire is to be the best I can be and serve those around me. My long-term goal is to pursue medicine.
I welcome an opportunity to hear from you and learn more about your program! Please contact me with any questions or comments.
All the best,
Katherine "Kate" Diedrich
