Personal Statement

I started playing volleyball in the fourth grade and immediately fell in love with the sport. Over the years, I tried other sports such as soccer, softball, and basketball but I did not enjoy any of those the way I enjoy volleyball. That being said, I chose to focus on volleyball.

I feel that volleyball has helped me grow as not only a player but also as a person. Volleyball has shown me many aspects including allowing me many opportunities to travel and meet new people.  I have learned the importance of teamwork, overcoming hardship, and results that come from hard work. I also feel that volleyball has had a huge impact on my personality and who I am today.

I started playing competitively in the eighth grade playing on Junior Varsity at St. Michaels High School (SMHS) and on the 14N2 team at Albuquerque Rebels Volleyball Club(ARVC). My freshman year I played Varsity at SMHS and I played on the 15N2 team at ARVC. This past year I played Varsity at SMHS and we had a very successful season: State Runner-up in 3A, and I was named to the All State First Team as a middle blocker. I am currently playing on the 16N1 team at ARVC.

I usually play outside for club and middle for school. I have come to love both and can cover either position effectively.

Aside from volleyball, academics are very important to me. Throughout my volleyball career I have always been able to balance school along side with my volleyball schedule. I currently have a 4.2 GPA and I have not had below a 4.0 GPA during my high school career so far.

My goal is to continue my volleyball career after high school along with receiving a quality education. I plan to continue to work hard every day on the court and in the classroom in order to better my skills and continue to focus on fundamentals in order to achieve this goal.

The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
