I started playing volleyball in 7th grade and immediately fell in love with the sport. I began my first club season that same year and progressed from there. I now play for NYC Juniors 16 National team as an outside hitter. And though outside hitter is my primary position, I am a versatile player, highly skilled at playing all along the back row and the right side as well. Furthermore, I have played basketball for five years. I am currently the starting center on the Varsity basketball team at my school. Along with being a hard-working and determined athlete, I am a high achieving, diligent student. This semester, I am taking accelerated trigonometry, physics, French 4 and Latin 4, and three separate oboe classes. I am a founder of my school's first BSU (Black Student Union) where we work to include more African American studies in our curriculum and create a safe space for Black students to express ideas and emotions. I am also a founder of NYC Junior's first Diversity and Inclusion committee where we work to create a diverse volleyball atmosphere and create presentations for our club to sit down and talk about topics that are usually excluded in sports.
Dominant multi-sport athlete with a high IQ and EQ. Coachable team player with strong game/court awareness. Disciplined, agile and determined, I am leader on the court and in the classroom.
