Personal Statement
My name is Tessa. I am in the class of 2021 at Penfield High School. I am a 6'0" setter and opposite hitter. I played varsity since I was a freshman. I have am a 5'1 setter but also play Opposite Hitter. I was voted All county Co-Player of the Year as the starting setter my senior year and was voted to the All Greater Rochester team my junior and senior year as a 5-1 setter. I was voted All County First Team as an outside hitter my sophmore year. Playing a variety of positions has helped me become a more well-rounded player and taught me perseverance to stick to my goal of being a setter in college. I have played club volleyball for six years and competed at Girls Junior Nationals in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and AAU Jr Nationals in 2021. I was the starting 5-1 setter on Paradigm Revolution 18-1 in 2021 and we placed 5th overall at AAU Jr Nationals 18 club division and I was named to the all star team. My team also placed second in the Boston Volleyball Tournament 5/22/21. In 2020 before our season was cut short I was starting 5-1 setter on VFX 18-1 Magic club team. We won the JVA Steel City Freeze 18 Open Division, Winter Challenge 18 Open Division, and the Hocus Pocus 18 Open Division. We also won the Silver bracket at the Sunshine Classic Qualifier in Orlando.
I want to play college ball at a highly competitive level. I am open to all colleges at all divisions. I was born in Pinellas County, Florida but currently live in Upstate New York. I am open to attending college anywhere within the United States. My goal is to pursue a college degree in the health sciences. I am looking for a program where I fit not only athletically but also academically. I am a quiet leader that works hard and leads by example. I believe that I can make a positive impact on your program because of my hard work ethic and integrity. I look forward to being a valuable part on your college team!
