Hi, my name is Tatiana Bailey. I currently live in Concord, North Carolina. I attend Cox Mill High School and I’m in the class of 2025. The positions I’ve played over the years have been Middle, Outside and Right-side. I’ve been playing volleyball since 2014. I’m a member of the Carolina Juniors Volleyball club (CJV). The club offers beginner programs which is where I started playing (Gold and Silver programs). August 2021, I tried out and was selected to my first CJV travel team for 15u. Each year after I’ve tried out and was selected to a travel team from 15U thru 17U. I am currently on a travel 17U select navy team with Coach Samantha Kurtzke. I also played JV for my Highschool team my Freshman and Sophomore years. I did not make the varsity team my Junior year. Although I did not make the team, I am currently training in the off season to get stronger and improve my skills so I can try out for my HS team in my Senior year and prepare for the travel season. I’ve scheduled private 1 on 1 ‘s each week with coaches from my club and some surrounding clubs in the area. These help me stay in shape and help me to continue to perfect my craft. Due to not being able to play HS volleyball I’ve had more time to train and focus on academics. I’m working on increasing my GPA which is currently a 3.3. Once it’s time to attend college I want to not only play volleyball, but also study Business and then transition that experience into studying Interior Design. I have great court vision as a defensive player. I am smart, yet a dominant Pin Hitter that has mastered reading where sets are and court awareness. I play volleyball because my dad told me it would be something to stay active, however I did not know the impact it would bring physically, or mentally. I tried a few sports to see which ones felt like something I would like or love to do long term. A few sports that I have tried before volleyball were Soccer and Basketball. I didn’t get the same feeling from them that I did with volleyball. Even though I wasn’t really good in the beginning and sometimes didn’t think I would ever be good enough to play at the next level, I stuck with it. This was my sport. love the connections and bonds you get the opportunity to create. I love the excitement your team and coaches get whenever you get a good play or a good kill. I feel as though I can really go far in volleyball with my dedication and hard work
