Personal Statement
I fell in love with the game of volleyball while watching my big sister play as a toddler. I started playing volleyball at the age of 5 years old. I am currently a four year Varsity starter, 2 years in NC and 2 years in GA, where I am currently a member of the GHSA 6A 2022 All-Regional 1st team. In my free time, I like to cook, bake, Paint, draw, and express myself through art. Action and horror movies are my favorites. I’m also a gym shoe and sports car junky. I enjoy helping people when possible and being myself. I gravitate to people who are respectful, open-minded, kind-hearted, and hard-working which aligns with what I strive to be every day. My GPA is not something that I'm proud of and I know that I'm more than capable of accomplishing any work that is presented to me. My freshman and sophomore years were filled with a family crisis and the pandemic which traumatized me mentally and really took a toll on my GPA. COVID-19 hit midway through my freshman year and all of my sophomore year. I was having a really hard time adjusting to learning from a computer screen 6 hours a day! Adjusting to these new school changes wasn't the only thing that I was dealing with at the time, a family emergency required my father to move across the country to CA to help my brother with a life-changing disability. All of these events took me into a mental state that I wasn't able to overcome. So needless to say, it was a struggle for me to maintain focus in school and strive to do my best when so much had changed within a couple of months. With the help of my family, personal growth, maturity, and an environment change, my grades have returned to the A-B honor roll level. I love my family. They are the source that motivates me to achieve my goal of becoming a Forensic scientist.
