Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Emma Ketterling. I am an upcoming senior setter/DS at Napoleon High School in south central North Dakota. I grew up in a home with hard-working parents who taught me and my siblings the importance of having good work ethic, seeing things through, and focusing on the task at hand. My goal throughout high school has been to involve myself in activities that better myself both academically, spiritually, and athletically. During my time at Napoleon High , I have strived to maintain a positive attitude while being a good influence on my peers. I actively participate in the classroom and am always willing to help classmates who need it. This trait has bled into my play style as a setter— I love seeing others succeed. I have been in love with volleyball since the fourth grade for that exact reason— you can’t do anything without the rest of the team. I am less concerned with my personal accomplishments and am more interested in what I can do to make those around me better. I strive to create a connection with my teammates so that what we do on the court is bigger than volleyball. I hope to find a program where the athletes and coaches have the same love for God, energy, family-like team culture,, and never-give-up attitude that I have! I know I can make an impact on any team I play for.
