My dream is to study physics. For as long as I can remember I have loved both math and science and known that's what I would want to study. I became particularly interested in physics when I was 14 years old and first read Stephen Hawkings A Brief History of Time and ever since I have been fascinated by cosmology with a particular interest in using computer programs and simulations to conduct research about theoretical concepts.
Over the summers of my freshmen and sophomore years, I enrolled in summer Physics' programs for High School Students at Stanford University which affirmed and honed my interest. In addition to taking IB Higher Level Physics in high school, I am the co-head of the 2018 STEM Conference for High School Students at the University of Toronto.
I'd describe my most prominent trait as a student is curiosity. Above all else I really enjoy problem solving and will not stop until I understand something.
As an athlete I am similar. I am very passionate about volleyball and love the sport and when faced with a problem (big block, tough server, etc.), I know there's a solution and the only way to find it is to work harder. I place attitude as the most important quality an athlete/team mate can have. Positivity, good work ethic, and an open mind is what I strive to have in volleyball above all else.
