Personal Statement

Hello, I am a volleyball and track and field athlete at Hood River Valley High School in Hood River, Oregon (an hour east of Portland).  In 8th grade I started playing club volleyball for Portland Volleyball Club. I was a MB for 3 years and am now playing as OH/OPP at OJVA this year.  I am a very quick and dynamic player and am excited to show my athleticism as a hitter.  I am a MB for my high school team and in 2016, HRVHS took the conference championship for the first time in 27 years!   Playing club ball in Portland is a huge commitment for me and my family as it is over an hour away, but I make the most of the commute by studying and staying ahead on my schoolwork.  I also head to Portland for track and field training in the spring as time allows.  Academics are very important to me. I strive to get all A's and keep my 4.0 GPA which will hopefully be beneficial towards my college aspirations. I also train with an amazing personal trainer named Kim twice a week, which I always look forward to as she pushes me very hard and has become a important mentor for me in many respects.  Thank you for looking at my profile!
