Personal Statement
I am a very outgoing and hard working athlete. I understand what it take to be an athlete while keeping your grades up. I understand grades are extremely important and they should come first to athletics. I have been able to balance athletics while being a distinguished honor roll student since nineth grade. I feel as if i will be a good candidate for your team because i am very hardworking and i will always give 110%. I am a firm believer that there is always room for improvement, therefore, I dont ever stop trying to improve my skills. I have been a setter since my seventh grade year but my senior year was a little different. We lost a few seniors in key positions the previous year so a few of us had to move around. I ended up not setting the first few games and i hit middle. After those first few games, the coaches decided that i was too strong of a setter with really good communications skill to pull from that position. After those games, my coaches made the decision to run a 6-2 out of the middle. Seems very chaotic, but it wasnt too bad. When I was in the front row, I played as the middle hitter/middle block, then when i was in the back row, I set. It got very confusing, however, this shows that i am a very versatile player who picks up new information/correction quickly. I am very different from most athletes because i am not only a leader on the court, but i am also a leader outside of the gym. I am a captian for my softball team as well as a captian for an organization called CHAMP . CHAMP is an organization that raises monye for families in need in our community. we have raised over $140,000 since we started the organization. This has helped so many people ini our community pay for medical bills and transportation to hospitals. Not only am I involved in that, i am also involved in the national honor society, studetn council, planet love joy, and a member of the softball team. I am a well rounded student who knows how to balance academics along with keeping up with her athletics.
