My first time ever playing volleyball in 6th grade was the moment I knew this was my sport. I honestly would say I encouraged myself to play volleyball. It started off as something I just wanted to try out, but once I actually played a game it felt great. Volleyball has helped me stay sane. The moment I step on the court I feel alive and motivated again. I started taking volleyball more seriously my sophomore year. Being that it was my first time joining the team I unfortunately couldn’t go to varsity, but I was starter for 1st and 2nd set. My junior year I’ve became the co captain. I enjoy encouraging my teammates. Being able to feel proud of myself, as old and new members ask me for help. For next year I was given the opportunity to be on varsity or be the captain of JV Capa Volleyball. I believe I can bring light , laughter, encouragement, hustle, and consistency to my future college team. You would think it’s hard keeping grades up and doing sports, but volleyball has helped me stay on track. And as we speak I’ve been on honor roll for all of my 3 years in counting of high school. My goal is to challenge myself more when it comes to volleyball. To push myself harder to get further. Being told that I wouldn’t get far in volleyball makes me want this even more. I believe that I am definitely ready.
