I have been playing sports since I was three years old. Beginning with figure skating where I progressed and improved my skills to the level that I qualified for and skated on a synchronized skating team where we competed throughout the Northeast. I also danced for a few years, ran for my CYO track team, played softball, and showed horses through the IEA where I qualified for nationals in my first year. Although I enjoyed all these sports, the camaraderie with my teammates and the lessons learned from playing team sports, I did not find my true passion until fifth grade when I started playing CYO volleyball.
Ever since I took my first steps on the court, I have aspired to become a better player on and off the court and I have the desire to play at the collegiate level. I was the only freshman to make my high school varsity team and I have been playing club volleyball for four years, now entering my fifth year. I made the difficult decision to leave Club Integrity and my teammates last year where I played club volleyball for three years to join club East Coast Power. Although I was nervous to do so, it was the best decision I could have made due to the additional training I have available. In addition to receiving more thorough instruction from my coaches who are actual college coaches, I take weekly lessons with a positions coach who is a two-time Division 1 national champion libero. The opportunity to be trained by such a high caliber coach to increase my defensive skills is immeasurable and I consider myself extremely fortunate for this opportunity. To play at the collegiate level is a once in a lifetime experience and I am willing to work hard to achieve this goal. I want to attend a college that will push me academically and athletically.
As an athlete on the court I am quick to the ball and on the bench I am supportive of my teammates. Off the court, you can find me reading, hanging out with family and friends, and taking part in National Charity League and SPCA volunteer activities.
