Personal Statement

Hello! My name is Maddison Goerg, and I am a DS/Libero primarily out of middle back. I aspire to play at the collegiate level due to my passion of volleyball and my want to win. The main aspects I look for within a team is a supportive coach, positive atmosphere with my peers, stress on academics, and intensive all-round training. In my eyes, I would be a good candidate for a college team due to my ability to work with anyone on a court, strong communication levels, and my defense in the back row.

University of Tennessee-Elite College Prep Camp

A three-day prep camp that gave me insight on what it would be like playing with people I wasn't familiar with and gave me more experience within not only the middle back position but the left back position. Even though I primarily play as a DS, this camp (and the coaches that taught me within in it, including former UCLA DS Kelsey Campeau) truly helped me find my voice on court and learn to take control of back row. I cannot wait to attend it yet again next summer.

Our team, 15 Acme, didn't do as well as we hoped, but we all loved the games and enjoyed the vigorous competition. Sadly, I had to sit out a day of the tournament due to a concussion but I cannot wait until next year to try again.
