My name is Madilyn Bergset Miers. I am a 5'6 setter from Mt.Juliet Tennessee. I started playing volleyball my sixth grade year to try something different, and I ended up loving everything about the sport. I loved and continue to love the bond I've created with my teammates over the years. As someone with a large family including four siblings, the energy and noise volleyball brings has always been something familiar to me and I absolutely love it. Because I do have a larger family, grades have always been something I've always been on top of. I've realized from more of a younger age that I'll need to stay attentive to grades and sports so I can gain college scholarship opportunities, this is also one of my driving factors to do my best in school and sports so I can make sure I will get my higher education without horrible amounts of student debt. Out of all my siblings I've been seen with the leadership and responsibility rolls from a young age, this comes into play with sports as well. As a setter you are always told you "run your offense," or "you rule the court," and I definitely believe this to be mostly true. I feel that I am very good with not only being seen as a leader on the court but also as a good, reliable, and trustworthy teammate because of the way I learned to cooperate with many people from a young age.
