My name is Delanie Patterson and I am a 6' Sophomore at Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS(class of 2021) Middle/RS for the Randall High School volleyball team. Our 2019 season we finished 37-4 overall (14-0 in District) losing to Lucas Lovejoy in the UIL State Finals 5A title match.
My parents found out my Mom was pregnant with me the month after my thirteen month old special needs brother, Braden, unexpectedly passed away in 2002. Our family has always depended on and trusted in God's timing. This holds true as I look towards entering college!
Since elementary school I've had a goal of making really good grades in school. School is really important to me. I value my education tremendously as it’s significant for me to do good in school so I can play and experience the thrill and excitement of each match with my teammates in a sport I've loved since 4th grade.
I am always focused on getting better, pushing myself and my teammates to persevere and never give up no matter what.
I thank Jesus Christ for the talents and blessings He provides me. I wouldn’t be here without my supportive and loving family. The sacrifices they have made for me to get me to where I am today is more than I could ever ask for.
