I am competitive and strive to be a great leader in every aspect of my life. As the baby of four strong siblings who were all involved in sports, I grew up in the gym and found my love for volleyball watching my sister practice and play. I gained skills early by peppering with her at home from the age of nine, began playing competitively at 12, and aspire to lead a team on the court at the college level.
I fell in love with setting because it is the position where I can showcase my skills and lead my team. I get to touch the ball every play and make the difficult decisions on what play to run to benefit the team. As a 5-1 setter, I helped lead my 15U team to a National Qualifier win in the Liberty division. Our team placed 7th at the 2022 USAV National Championships and I was recognized to the All-Tournament Team. This is my third year as Captain of my club team. I thrive on being a leader, making tough decisions, and building up my teammates to elicit the best performance.
Some of my best attributes are my coachability and work ethic. I am not afraid to ask questions or have difficult conversations. I am always ready to work and actively put extra effort towards improving myself personally, athletically, and academically. I think this is a valuable trait that comes as a choice and not a skill. As a HS sophomore, I was needed as a defensive specialist and received District 5-5A honorable mention and Academic All-District awards in that position. I am a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Leadership Council at my high school. I hope to attend a college where I can continue to grow as an athlete, as well as a person, and surround myself with people that push me to be my best.
