My name is Emmie Riethman. I play for Drive Nation Volleyball Club and am playing up on their 18s Red team. This is my sixth season of club volleyball. Last year I played on Tejas 16.1 where we finished 3rd at the 2017 Girls Junior National Championship in the USA Division and I was named to the All-Tournament team. Every year of my club career, my team has advanced to the Girls Junior National Championship.
I am a junior at Keller High School, a 6A school in Keller, TX where I am starting libero. My team won our district the last two years. I received 1st Team All-District and Academic All-District.
I come from a family that loves sports. Both of my parents played NCAA sports in college and my older brother currently plays football at Texas A&M University. Prior to getting into volleyball, I was a competitive gymnast. Much of our family time is spent traveling around watching each other compete.
Academics are very important to me. I am currently ranked in the top 2% of my class of nearly 750 students. I take a full AP and Pre-AP load with a GPA of 103.4. I am a member of the National Honor Society and scored a 30 on the ACT.
Outside of volleyball, I enjoy watching my brothers compete, spending time with family and friends, working on service projects and participating in my church youth group. My favorite week of the year is when I attend summer church camp, where my soul is re-fueled, allowing me to go out and serve in a positive and joyful manner.
I am seeking a defensive specialist position at a university recognized not only for it's athletic success, but more importantly for it's academic excellence.
