Sa'Myah Medford '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Sa'Myah Medford. I am a 6’0"  Middle Blocker/Opposite for the class of 2023 at Lakeridge High School in Mansfield, Texas, and Club Texas Volleyball in Fort Worth, Texas. I have been playing volleyball for six years and love it more every year.  I was introduced to volleyball by my mom in 6th grade.  I played basketball but when the season ended, my mom suggested I play a winter sport, so I tried volleyball and was naturally good at it.  I never returned to basketball.

Playing volleyball at the collegiate level is a dream that I hope to accomplish.  I enjoy being a student-athlete and I know the dedication and hard work it takes.  I have a strong passion for volleyball; I try to make not only myself a better player, but my team as well.  I am a hard worker, leader, and team player.  I also consider myself versatile on the court - I strive to get better daily.

I am looking for a college that can provide a good balance of competitive-level volleyball and academic excellence.  I love the competition of the sport and I want to be challenged in the classroom as I plan to study nursing.
