Maia McGarity '19 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches, my name is Maia McGarity. I am 16 years old and I am in my Junior year at MacArthur HS in San Antonio, Texas. I am a two year letterman & astarter on the Varsity volleyball team.  I was the starting middle for the Junior Varsity volleyball team my Freshman year.  I moved on to the Varsity team my Sophomore year and became the starting right side.  My defense was a major contribution to the 2016-2017 MAC VARSITY VOLLEYBALL playoff team. I earned Honorable Mention honors for my performance that season.  In 2016-2017, I was also a part of the Varsity Basketball playoff team.  After my success in the 2016-2017 year, I made the decision that I wanted to pursue my volleyball career in college.  I have played club volleyball for 3 different teams and I currently play for SA IMPACT 171 NATIONALS TEAM.  I am currently working on becoming  a stronger, consistent hitter, becoming a stronger blocker, and increasing my vertical to become a consistent front row player.  I play front row and i also play back row defense and I am a very consistent server, with a wide range of long and short serves. I have favorable court awareness and  I pride myself in being able to place my kills on the court.    I'm interested in majoring in business and having a career in sports marketing.  I'm very eager to continue to use volleyball as a tool to help get through college and to become a successful business woman.
