Hello! My name is Amya Orn and I am 5'6" OH/RS/DS in the class of 2022. I would describe myself as a dedicated, self-driven, and hard-working student-athlete. My dream ever since I was 11 has been to play volleyball in college at a competitive level, while pursuing my career in either physical therapy or psychology. My education is as important to me as my love for volleyball. I currently have a 4.4 highschool GPA and a 3.3 college GPA. I plan on taking my ACT/SAT in September of my junior year.
In my future school, I am looking for somewhere that will push me not only athletically but also academically. I also really want to go to a school that will also push me in my relationship with the Lord as well, my faith is very important to me and I am always looking to strengthen my relationship with the Lord. In my future school, I am looking for something that feels like home right when I step onto campus!
Volleyball had taught me many lessons about the game and myself. I've learned that nothing is going to come easy and you have to work and push for every opportunity. I've learned to never let anything knock you down, I've learned how to be mentally tough on and off the court as well! My teammates and coaches have also had a big part in me being the player I am today, they are always supporting me on and off the court, and when I am having an off day. As an OH/DS I've gained more court awareness and a higher volleyball IQ. I've learned how to be supportive of my teammates even when I am not playing my best at the moment. With being an all-around player I have learned that I am a dependable member of the team and that I always have to give 100% to help not only me but my team succeed.
