I am competitive by nature both in the classroom and through sports. Academics are very important to me and I work hard to maintain a 3.8 GPA. I graduated Magna Cum Laude, top 10% of my class, and with distinguished honors. I was a member of the National Honor Society all four years of high school.
I have played basketball and run track for years, but volleyball is my passion. Throughout my many years of competing in sports I have had the opportunity to play multiple positions, including point guard and wing in basketball, and run various legs in track relays. As a defensive specialist/ Libero for my club team, I see the whole court and it is my job to communicate all the details to my team for us to be successful. I enjoy this position because it gives me the opportunity to enhance and develop my leadership skills while helping my team achieve positive results. I also play as an outside hitter for my high school team and earned Honorable Mention for Super Centex, Second team all state, and first team all district honors my senior year. I have learned by embracing the different positions and the challenges that come with each that flexibility is an essential element when it comes to being part of a team. Each team comes with its own unique struggles, whether it's player chemistry, skill sets, or the mental game. Tackling these situations with my team has helped me build and strengthen my character. I have been blessed to compete in so many different ways. I believe my ability to manage my time as a multi-sport year round athlete, my ability to sustain high academic achievements, and my experience adapting to different sports and positions has helped me to overcome struggles in my life outside of sports and has helped me influence and serve others in a positive way.
