Personal Statement
Having 6 older siblings that have been very successful student athletes motivated me early on to push myself to set goals, keep a positive attitude and remain focused toward my goal of being an academic All- American. Prior to starting volleyball, I played on multiple basketball teams until I realized my passion was volleyball in 7th grade. As a left handed player, I was primarily a Middle Blocker in middle school and first two years of club. In the summer between my 8th and 9th grade year, I made the USAV HP A3 team and Alternate for A2 as a middle blocker. Going into high school, I started as the right side for our varsity team with my first year, we finished 2nd in the state championship (2016) and this year moved up into a more competitive district but came in 4th. Last club season during the Big South Prep Volleyball Showcase, I was on their top ten list, with the comment that I was, "Southpaw with a good strike." This year, I primarily play RS, but occasionally play middle blocker because of my strong blocking and hitting power. Currently, I am playing up in the 18's/17's Open club division as a starting right side. I am a very diverse player and can play any position given to me. I never give up on myself, knowing I can always improve. I am a straight A student. My vertical is above 30 inches and I touch around 9'11" on my approach and 9'5" on block. My standing reach is 7'4". I have been complimented a lot about how hard of a worker I am by several coaches. I can beat any challenge and love to push myself past my limits both physically and mentally. I love being in an atmosphere that pushes me.
