Personal Statement
Committed to success is the best way to describe me. I push myself because I know that in order to succeed I can not settle for anything less. I am hard on myself because I know that people around me expect greatness. I believe that the best thing that has ever happened to me was when I got asked by the head coach of U-Turn to practice with the 18 year olds while just being 15. Ever since then I focused on being the best athlete and trying my hardest to become a leader. I pushed myself on and off the court; Such as, going to the gym in my spare time, trying different playing techniques, learning how to play multiple positions, and eating healthier. Eventually my hard work paid off, when I officially started traveling with the 18 year olds and got to finish the season out with them. Practicing with the older girls helped me to develop a quicker reaction time which is needed at this level. It felt awesome, and it was a confirmation to me that I can do anything I set my mind too.
Volleyball has taught me many important things in life; Such as, having positive communication skills and growing strong ever-lasting relationships with people around me. Volleyball has not only been a learning opportunity but a gift.
I also hold the Midlothian High School record for blocks during a season as of 2018.
