I walked through the doors of Northern Virginia Volleyball Association (NVVA) several years ago thinking it would be a temporary past time as I had never played volleyball before. However, the moment I stepped onto the volleyball court and started to play, I knew I had found my calling. Volleyball came natural to me and quickly became my passion. It has also helped me develop both personally and as an athlete. Volleyball has enabled me to improve skills in communication and time management and develop different characteristics and traits such as patience, hard work, collaboration, and persistence. Most importantly, it has shown me to believe in myself and has proven that anything can be accomplished with dedication and hard work.
Being selected for the freshman team at Potomac Falls High School has made me feel a part of something bigger than myself. Whether it is on or off the court, I know that not only am I a student at Potomac Falls, but I am representing what it means to be a leader and teammate. Being part of the team has strengthened my motivation and desire to be the best version of myself, both as a student and an athlete. I have pushed myself out of my comfort zone trying different positions and techniques. I currently play both the libero and defensive specialist on my team, rotating between sets. I have also played setter in the Galaxy League at NVVA.
I thrive on the court and I do not want my commitment to volleyball to end when high school is over. My ultimate goal is play competitive volleyball in college. Uncertain at this time of what I plan to major in, but I am leaning towards a major in the sciences. The one thing I am certain of is my love for volleyball!
