- 2023 Spotlight #2
Personal Statement
I am currently a sophomore maintaining a 4.0 GPA at my 3A high school where I earned a spot as the Libero on Varsity, as well as the starting Libero on my U15 1 club team. I value commitment and a healthy team environment. I believe that positive relationships with teammates and coaches makes the difference between a good team and a great one. I aspire to be the best teammate and classmate I can be by elevating myself and those around me to realize their best possible potential.
Prior to playing volleyball, I competed as a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do at the national level, taking 3rd in the nation in 2019 in the open division. Being a Black Belt has taught me the true meaning of respect, commitment and dedication. While I grew up in a volleyball family, I did not start playing until I was 12. I quickly fell in love and found more happiness in playing volleyball then any sport I have participated in. I started going to any camp I could find and begging my sisters to pepper with me multiple times a day. I'm now in my 3rd season of club volleyball and I've learned the importance of putting in the work to get the results. I strive for excellence on and off the court. I'm working on being confident and trusting in my team mates; I can see the positive impact of thinking of your teammates as a family rather than acquaintances.
I have plans to attend college and would love the opportunity to continue to play volleyball at the college level.
