Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Claire Luoma and I am a freshman at Franklin High School. I currently live in Franklin, WI with my parents, my older sister, Ella (age 16) and my three dogs. When I am not in my club season, I enjoy traveling, reading, dancing, swimming, playing beach volleyball, and creating most any type of art. I am very creative!
In the classroom, I am a strong student and work hard to stay organized and manage my time and all of my responsibilities. I am dedicated student athlete who understands the importance of studying hard in school and getting good grades.
I have LOVED volleyball for as long as I can remember. I started playing volleyball when I was eight years old and I have played club volleyball for the past six years. A personal goal of mine is to continue playing libero on the top team at each age level while playing at Milwaukee Sting. In the fall 2020, my goal is to make the varsity volleyball team as a freshman and play libero, alongside my older sister.
In the future, my goal is to attend a strong academic institution while playing volleyball at the highest level. I am certain that I have qualities that would be attractive to any college coach. For as long as I can remember, I have had a very strong passion for the game of volleyball. I have worked very hard to become the player I am today and I look forward to continuing to grow as a player over the years. I am an extremely coachable athlete. I am focused and attentive, listen well, ask questions, and work hard at every practice. I am a great teammate and I always put my team first. I am a good communicator on the court and a leader on my team. I believe that I have a high "volleyball IQ," as I have a very good understanding of the game. I am quick and can anticipate extremely well. I am also a true competitor! With all of these qualities, I believe I would be a great asset to any team.
