Personal Statement
My name is Kendall Schaffner. I will be a freshman during the 2019-2020 season. I am from Wyoming. I have been playing volleyball since I was in the second grade. I guess you could say I have been in the gym my entire life. My mom will be my high school volleyball coach and I have been attending practices and open gyms with her as long as I can remember. I love playing all sports but volleyball is my passion. I have have played competitively since the second grade. I started playing with our rec program and then started playing club ball. My U12 team qualified for the National AAU tournament and we got the amazing experience of traveling to Orlando, Florida to play in that tournament. I thought I would play with that group of girls until I graduated but life had a different plan for me. Between my 6th and 7th grade year my parents moved us to Wheatland, Wyoming. This was a hard change but volleyball remained my one constant. During my 7th and 8th grade seasons I played for my middle school as well as for my club. I was able to attend the Crossroads tournament in Denver, CO. This last winter my club team and I played in the Red Rock Rave in Las Vegas, NV. We qualified for the National AAU tournament again by winning the Volleyfest Tournament in Billings, MT. We are headed back to Orlando Florida this June to play. My club and I also played USA volleyball in the Rocky Mountain Region this winter. I have also attended numerous camps and clinics. I look forward to continuing my growth in this sport that I love.
