Nephi Tidwell '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Nephi Tidwell and I am a lifelong Alaskan resident. I live in Alaska and attended Ben Eielson Senior High, graduated May 16th, 2020.

I started wrestling in 7th grade when I was 12. Although I may have started late compared to many of my peers who have wrestled since elementary school, my passion and love for the sport has instilled in me the ability to simply outwork my competition. I love wrestling and the challenges it presents, knowing that each win and loss is on me. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to honestly evaluate what I need to improve on. More than half of my losses were sustained in my first year of high school wrestling as a sophomore; I have compiled a 62-12 record during my junior and senior seasons.

I am a 2x varsity team captain for the Eielson Ravens wrestling team and a 2x ASAA Division II state placer, taking 3rd in state at 189lbs in 2018 and 2nd in state at 215lbs in 2019. During my senior season I posted a 26-3 record at the 215lb weight class while weighing under 200lbs. I beat many wrestlers who were bigger and stronger than me through my superior technique and conditioning.

I took the ACT February 8th 2020 and earned a 26 composite score 

I hope to compete at the collegiate level while pursuing an undergraduate in Exercise Science
