Personal Statement
I love to compete. It brings out the best in me. I love the work that goes into it, I love the thrill of accomplishment, and I appreciate the opportunity to pick myself up and learn after a loss (that's never easy). I strive to be the best I can in every aspect of my life, including academics (3.9 weighted GPA), wrestling (I'm sitting at 97 varsity wins), football, and religion. I want to continue to strive for excellence, and I want to continue competing in college.
I have learned to push myself past my breaking point and persevere, even through serious injury. But more importantly, I have learned to work well with and lead others through calm example. I consciously focus on camaraderie and support in any organization I'm a part of. I'm also the oldest of 6 kids, and I have learned true responsibility as I've been tasked with caring for my four younger brothers and my baby sister.
Ultimately, I want to be a physical therapist and specialize in sports rehabilitation. I want to begin that pursuit through an undergraduate degree in biology.
