Michael Briscoe '15 Recruiting Profile

I first discovered wrestling in eighth grade; I immediately fell in love with the sport and have since always dreamed of being the best wrestler I can possibly be. These aspirations have motivated me to drastically improve over the last four years, going from barely making the varsity team freshman year to making state and winning sections my sophmore and junior years. My ultimate goal however is to place at state, and eventually become an NCAA champion. What has made it possible to pursue my goals is my drive and my passion for the sport. If you don't have drive to motivate you in such a grueling sport as wrestling, then it will be extremely hard to reach your goals. These characteristics have translated to the classroom as well, helping me maintain a weighted GPA of 4.1. My academic goal is to get a college degree in either engineering or physics. I believe I would be a great contribution to any school with my capability to excel in the classroom and on the mats.
