HS record of 133-3. I have won back to back Michigan High School State Championships. 2021 Fargo Natl’s Greco All American. I carry a 3.99 unweighted GPA and 4.33 weighted GPA. My SAT score is a 1520 with a 780 on math. I have been wrestling competitively since I was seven years old. It has been a phenomenal journey that has given me the opportunity to see much of the United States. These trips have put me in the position to compete against the best wrestlers in the country.
Wrestling for me is the ultimate individual test. However, my favorite aspect of the sport is being part of a team. Working together as a team to help each other accomplish their individual goals while working towards a common team goal is paramount to me. I consider myself a leader on and off the mat. One example of my leadership off the mat is that I was selected by the teaching staff to serve as the representative for the Class of 2022 on the St. Joseph Public Schools Foundation Board. This is a four year position. The boards goal and purpose is to support the SJPS Foundation and its activities and establish a relationship between the Foundation and the students of St. Joseph Public Schools. My other interests are lifting weights, and playing the Piano.
My freshman year sent me a bit of adversity. I was able to make the varsity team weighing 96 lbs. During the course of the season I ran my record to 23-1. Unfortunately during win number 24, I suffered a broken wrist in the beginning of the second period. This happened two weeks before districts and thus ended my freshman season. This setback made me adjust my goals and set me on a path to work harder knowing first hand that you cannot take anything for granted.
My sophomore season I compiled a 46-2 record en-route to winning the Michigan Division 2 103/105 lb State title. I am proud to say I was able to avenge my only two loses of the year beating that opponent at both the County Championships and individual districts. With my win a the County Championships I was awarded the Most Outstanding Wrestler award for wrestlers under 140 lbs.
During my Junior season I was able to win my second Michigan State Championship with a record of 35-0 allowing only a single takedown on the season I was also awarded the Southwest Michigan Wrestler of the year
Academics has always been very important to me. I really do enjoy learning and appreciate the competitiveness of academics. My goal is to finish in top five in my class at St. Joseph High School with an unweighted 3.99 GPA. St. Joseph High School is consistently ranked as one of the Best High Schools in Michigan and offers many Honors and AP courses. If you take a look at my transcript you will find I have taken advantage of these opportunities. My long term goal is to wrestle for one of the Highest Ranked Colleges in the country for academics. I would like to be a major contributor to the wrestling team with the goal of becoming an NCAA All-American.
