Wrestling changed my life. As a young boy I was obese and was teased endlessly for it. In the 3rd grade my neighbor whose son wrestled recommended the sport to me, and at first I was very reluctant. I finally agreed and went to every single rec practice, cried, almost threw up each time, and lost almost every single match. I was broken. I dropped the sport the next year only to rekindle with it in the 5th grade. From then to the 7th grade I had not taken it that seriously and only did it to lose weight. As I started going to club more often and do more tournaments I improved, as well as starting to see a difference in my body. Now I am no longer obese, and also excel at the sport too. I love this sport and owe my life to it. Without I don't know where I would be as a person mentally and physically.
I love to see myself grow as a athlete and person, and to make the people around me better. I have an upbeat and outgoing personality and bring leadership as well fun and competitiveness to my teams. What's different about me is I love to bring a light hearted atmosphere in the room when appropriate but can also present a serious tone when needed. In college I want to compete to the best of my ability as well as receive a great education. I love to meet new people and take opportunities when given to me. Part of my philosophy is that the point of life is to give 100% in everything I do, and if I do that I can excel in anything.
