I started my wrestling career in 2019 at Piedmont Junior High. My dad signed me up for the summer wrestling camp to see if I’d like it and add to my Jiu Jitsu game. I absolutely loved it, although I found that every move I had seemed to be illegal at the time.
I moved to Claremore Junior High School in 2020 due to COVID and was only able to wrestle a partial season because I was quarantined every other week it seemed. However, another season of practice helped me win Most Valuable Wrestler. My coaches presented me with this award because I was willing to wrestle multiple weight classes (106, 112, and 119), so the team didn’t give up dual points. My willingness to be a team player and take on challenges will make me an asset to any team.
My goal for the 2022-23 season are to improve my defense, place in State, and qualify for Fargo.
Although my High School career is young I have already had a few significant accomplishments. I qualified for State as a Freshman in Track & Field as a Pole Vaulter and I won 3 Tournaments during the wrestling season (Perry Tournament of Champions, Sand Springs, and Claremore Invitational).
