My name is Dawson Martin and I am a senior at Radford High School. This will be my fourth year on the varsity wrestling team and fourth year as team captain. I have been wrestling since second grade and continue to love the sport. I am looking forward to the opportunity to continue my wrestling career at the college level.
Academic success is very important to me. I am currently maintaining a 4.1 GPA with honors classes and was inducted into the National Honor Society last year. Math and science classes are the most interesting classes to me, I hope to pursue a college degree in a related field.
Community involvement has been integral in my life from a young age. I have volunteered with many organizations during my high school career. Much of the volunteering involves forming positive relationships with others in the community. I have been an assistant recreation league coach for the last three years. I have also spent one week each of the last two summers volunteering as a counselor for at-risk youth from around the Commonwealth of Virginia.
High moral standards are at the center of my core beliefs. I am actively involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at our school. I have been attending various congregations throughout my life and have been a leader in youth groups. I have preached many times throughout the years and have been a musician in multiple praise bands for the last six years.
