Personal Statement
I was always that kid in the stands watching and cheering my friends on while they played baseball and I never imagined I would end up here with goals of playing college baseball in my future. Ever since I started playing many people have been giving me motivation to get better and work harder. I have always heard the phrase you can be as great as you want to be, but I never truly understood that until I got to high school. I had always thought that the college and professional players were just the most talented. I now know that not only are all those players talented but they were also the most determined and hardworking. When I realized that I could be as a great as I wanted to be, I started pushing myself harder then before. I now take great pride in my work ethic on and off the field. I stay focused on my studies maintaining a good GPA and I stay focused on sports, practicing and getting better whenever possible. I take critiques and make the adjustments needed. I am constantly doing whatever possible to get better whether that’s studying more in school or making a pitching lane in 6’ of snow to be able to throw outside. I take pride in being a great team player and am willing to take on any role or do whatever it takes to support my team. I have been on winning teams and losing teams and I know that each experience has a valuable lesson for me to learn. I always stay positive and try to be the best teammate I can be by pumping up my teammates and helping them to improve. I never let my performance bring me down and recognize this is a journey. I strive to be the best person, student, and athlete I can in order to increase my chances to play college baseball at the highest possible level my hard work will allow.
