Personal Statement
More than anything else I love to play baseball. I've been playing baseball since I was 5 years old. I first started playing as a outfielder but I transitioned to the infield primarily because of my speed and my hands. I love to steal bases. I was always one of the smaller kids on my team and I learned how to bunt and use my speed. When I was 13, I was always the last hitter in the lineup. I could have quit, but I loved the game way to much. So, I decided to go to work. As I worked, I began to build confidence in myself and my ability to hit the baseball. By the time my 14 year old season came, I was hitting in the 3 hole for a team that won multiple tournaments. When I'm not playing baseball I enjoy working with my hitting coach: Justin Ruchti. He played in the college World series for Rice and was in the Seattle Mariners organization. I would love to be able to say that I played in the championship at the college level. I also volunteer at church and help my mom with the elementary age kids. During the summer I help her with a sports camp. I am a serious student and do the best I can do in school. I feel I will add strength over the next few years to be ready to play at the next level. My main goal is to get into a good school where I can play baseball and get a quality education.
