Gabrielle Tofig '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is Gabby Tofig and I am in the graduating class of 2013 at Council Rock High School North in Newtown, PA.   I am a person that sets out to achieve aggressive and important goals. When faced with adversity I am persistent and hard-working. I seek help from others in order to accomplish my objectives and in pressure situations I am a leader who tries to help those around me rise above all obstacles. I would like to pursue a career in engineering or science. I am open to many different types of schools, but I want to attend one that has a strong math and science program. My family would like to apply for a FAFSA. Making an impact on the team means a great deal to me, but I understand that I have to earn the right to start some games as a freshman. I have been a part of a team where we have reached the elite 8 in the state of Pennsylvania and I am not afraid of working hard to reach such high standards. I have been a varsity starter for two years and am going to be returning as a senior for my third varsity season and have been selected Captain of my team. As a player I spend a great deal of time on and off the field perfecting my ball control and stick skills and my biggest weapon is speed and out running my competition. I am also a 3 year member of the Mystx Field Hockey Club where I have contributed to many successful teams that have participated at the NIT's, NCC, Festival & AAU championships.   I am a 3 -year Varsity Track Athlete and was selected to the Suburban One All League Team in the 3200 meters. In addition I am a member of a 4 x 800 team that qualified for states in 2011 and medaled coming in 7th place in 2012.  From both sports I have learned how to set goals and work hard to accomplish them. I am driven to succeed and I realize that it may be hard to break through to the next level of competition, but I train until I achieve my goal.
