Hi, my name is Lila Ogle, and I began playing field hockey in 5th grade, which quickly became a huge part of my life. 5th grade was also when I joined my club team, Lonestar. I am now Captain of the U-16 Orange team. I am originally from San Antonio, where I attended St. Mary's Hall from pre-k through 8th grade. However, I moved to Austin to go to St. Stephen's Episcopal School the summer of 2024, mainly to challenge myself with both rigorous academics, and a much better field hockey team than what I was used to. Alongside this, my club team, Lonestar, has always practiced in Austin, which made the hour and a half commute twice a week for practice hard for nearly 3 years. My love for the sport continues to grow daily. My biggest aim for my future while attending college is to excel both academically in the classroom, and athletically on the field while contributing positively to my team and university community. My dedication and commitment to both field hockey and my studies allows me to constantly push myself to improve, setting personal records/goals and embracing challenges along the way. I believe that resilience is essential for success. These past 5 years have taught me the importance of teamwork and leadership, as I have often taken on roles that require motivating my teammates and bringing the energy to the field. My ability to manage time efficiently has prepared me for the demands of a new, and more rigorous high school that what I was used to in San Antonio. I also participate in Strength and Conditioning in the winter season, and lacrosse in the spring. I am eager to bring that same determination to your program. I am not only driven to succeed individually but also to uplift those around me. I believe that a supportive team culture is crucial for collective success, which is something I look forward to.
