Personal Statement
My name is Jake Gigliotti, I'm a Senior at Yorba Linda High School. I am the oldest child of three and live in Yorba Linda, California, in Orange County. I grew up in in a positive, loving environment, where academics and competitive sports were stressed.
I began playing football at the age of eight and have played ever since. During my freshman year of High School, as Quarterback, I helped lead our team to a league championship and received the award of “Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year.” That same year, I also received the award of “Most Valuable Player” for my Freshman Baseball Team. During my sophomore year, earned a starting position as receiver on the varsity team and was voted "Rookie of the Year."
During my Junior year, I returned to the Quarterback position and was voted the League's Most Valuable Player of the Year. That year our team went undefeated during the regular season, with a record of 10-0. During that season, I threw for 1200 yards and had 14 rushing touchdowns.
I look forward to continuing my education and earning a degree in either Business, Biology, or Finance. I work hard in school and currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.67 and received the award of “Scholar Athlete."
This past summer, I attended the Nike Spark Combine and received a certified Sparq Rating (14LANFTC-132G) of 80.73, which was the 92nd percentile of all Sparq athletes tested in my class. I was also rated in the 98th percentile for my 4.20 agility time and was in the 93rd percentile for my power ball at 36 feet. I run between a 4.5 and 4.6 - 40 and an 11.4 - 100m.
In short; my dream is to obtain a four year college degree while playing football. As I continue through my high school years, I will work hard to hone my football skills, while getting faster and stronger. I can play several positions on the football field and will represent your school with honor and respect. I look forward to hearing from you and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
