Personal Statement
My life consists of a few main points that I believe contribute to my success in sports and in school. The first is my faith. I am a very firm believer in that if you pray hard enough for something you need help with, God will help. There is a bible verse that I like to live by that I truly think fits my life, Matthew 19:26. It states that “With God, all things are possible.” This has helped me through so many hard times in my life and as I have gotten older, I have realized that this is true. After so many years of being teased about having dreams and friends saying, “You’re never gonna make it”, this has helped me continue to have faith and believe that God has a path for me in life and he will guide me through it no matter what.
The second important point in my life is my family. They are the most supportive people in my life. They are always pushing me to train harder and make sure I give 110% all the time. My dad always tells me to “Go play every down like it’s your last because you will never get that one back.” I have lived by that saying my whole life because it applies to so much on and off the field. It serves as a reminder on the field because I know I can’t give up and I don’t want to disappoint my family. My mom has always said she will be my biggest and loudest fan and no matter if we win or lose, she is always encouraging me to keep my chin up and do my best. My older brother has always pushed me to try harder than ever and won’t let me give up if I’m getting down on myself or don’t feel like working out by going with me and training together.
The third aspect is school. I try to do my best in school so that I will be smarter on the field and in life. I believe that proves true since I’ve had one Honors class my Freshman year and this year I have three Honors classes and one Advanced Placement class and both years I’ve maintained Silver Honor Roll status. I think that if you put in the effort in the classroom, good work ethic will follow you to take your role seriously on the field and continue to help you strive for excellence in your future plans. You should always hold the bar higher than standard to help you push to reach your goals and never settle for average. I want to make it to the next level in football and I want to lead a successful life after football when I can no longer play to the best of my abilities.
The last aspect is what I like to do in my free time to help me keep a level head. I like playing video games, listening to music, playing the drums and guitar, airsofting, paintballing, hanging out with my friends, and of course training to continue to make myself the best I can be. I enjoy listening to and playing music of all types which I think makes me interesting because it shows the many sides of my personality.
These are the 4 main reasons or points in my life that contribute to my athletic talent in playing football and make me the best I can be in life. I play with the most heart out of anybody I have ever played with and I cannot wait to better myself so that I can make my life great and continue to strive for excellence in my years to come. Thank you.
