I started my football career late in Middle School in 2008. Since my first game I have been a starter at Center and Nose Guard for ALL of our school games. During my first season I was part of the first Middle School Football undefeated season in our school history.
Our team was the PAC-10 Champion for 2011 and made a run to the regional games. Our team had a winning record at 9-1 for the season and lost in the final playoff game to qualify for states.
For the 2012 season our team again won the PAC-10 Championship title and will be competed regionally. We lost our final game prior to the state championship. Our team was ranked 2nd among the PA state football squads. That year I made the transition to Left Guard and was a starter for all games on offense. As for the defensive side of the ball, I was the second team backup for all three defensive line positions and started three games on defense while my teammate was sidelined with an injury. My defensive record for 2012 included a blocked punt and four sacks.
For the 2013 season I have been moved back to the Center position and Defensive Tackle. I am a starter for both sides and have played all games so far this season. My stats include 4 sacks and 11 tackles to date. This year our team is ranked 4th in the state through mid season.
I am 5 foot 10 and weigh about 245 pounds. I as a co captain and the offensive captain for our JV team and have been a starter for my entire high school career. My coaches have always been impressed by my stamina and desire to be the best. I am always first on the field and lead by example. My goal is definitely to play at the college level, but also to focus upon my academics.
Currently, I am in the gifted academic program and have been for six years. I am focused upon my AP courses for this year and currently carry a 4.2 GPA.
I am willing to consider several types of school and will focus mostly upon the academic program and location of the school. I would hope to play Division I or II programs, but the first priority is my education. I am realistic to focus upon quality of the academic programs.
My first selection of a college would be the University of Pittsburgh because of my family’s history with that school—as my father, his cousins, my older sister and others have attended. Also, my great uncle served on the board of Trustees for the University in the 1970’s. Primarily though, Pitt has an outstanding science and physics program.
Secondary choices would focus upon schools on the East Coast with high standards of excellence in chemistry and medical programs. I am open to all schools but will make my determination based on educational quality. I am considering several schools including Colgate, Navy, Georgia, and Georgia Tech.
My family is seeking financial need for school programs based on the types of various scholarships and awards available. I am exploring options at this time for academic and sports scholarships. But will be open to opportunities that are afforded me.
My desired major is physics or molecular science and seek to continue my education to the Master’s Level.
With my experience, ability, and leadership qualities, I am looking to be part of a winning program that holds high standards for their athletes. I am hoping to make a definite impact my freshman year and realistically look to be playing from my sophomore year through senior eligibility.
I want to thank you for your consideration.
