Personal Statement
Coming from a Hispanic family not many sports are played besides soccer. Going into seventh grade I knew my school offered many sports. When I finally picked up a lacrosse stick and started to play, I instantly fell in love with the sport. I felt as if it was meant for me to play. My relatives never played lacrosse and none of them have ever been to college except for my sister. That gives me inspiration and a special drive that I guarantee you not many people have. Whether that be in the classroom, in the weight room, or on the field. Never have I let my teammates down and I treat them as if they were family. I do this because in the dying embers of a lacrosse game you need to be able to rely on your brothers. Academically I've always wanted to be an athletic trainer. This idea came to me when my high school athletic trainer helped me after a football game that we lost. She had told me to always keep my head up and maybe one day you can tell other kids the same thing. This has inspired me too be just like her. I will train hard in the classroom to be as successful as she is if not, even more successful. My commitment is deep and my competitiveness is relentless.
