- ActivitiesHOSA (Future Health Professionals)- It helped me learn more about the healthcare setting and gave me opportunities to help with blood drives. I helped people walk who did not feel well, and I helped give out snacks to people who donated blood. Sustainability Club- I am in charge of finding low-carbon-footprint food recipes for our website. The club's goal is to help educate our classmates about the issues going around our environment and what we can do to fix them. Work-Study- I shadowed Dr. Shawn Gilbert, an orthopedic surgeon, at Children's of Alabama. I was able to see how the clinic runs, talk to nurses, cast technicians, registration staff, residents, and surgeons. I was able to also see patients with him, and I watched him operate on someone who dislocated their elbow. I also learned about the complex limb, hip, and spine abnormalities patients can have and how they are treated. Bell Ringing- I rang the bell for the Salvation Army. Piano- I took lessons from 1st to 7th grade, but I still play on my own. Hobbies- I enjoy drawing.
