Personal Statement
My name is Gary Kight and I am currently a senior at Wheatmore High School. I realized I loved the game of soccer, ever since I put on my first pair of cleats at age four. My passion for soccer has led to a desire to play soccer beyond high school. I have been a three year starter for my high school varsity team. Traditionally, I have been a center midfielder, but I have the ability to play all over the field. Occasionally, I play right mid. I will play anywhere I am needed. I had the great honor of becoming an All Conference player my junior year. Additionally, I was awarded the Coach's Award my junior year for soccer. I was also awarded the Coach's award my freshmen year in tennis.
What separates me from other players is my determination, leadership, and my pristine passing abilities. I am always determined to do my best on and off the field. I will never walk on the field and will always give 110%. I have developed into a leader for my team on and off the field. I have earned great respect from my teammates on and off the field. I always build my teammates up and never tear them down, no matter what the circumstance. I always try to help out my teammates anyway that I can. I consider myself a team player. One of my soccer strengths is distributing the ball to my fellow teammates while being able to see the whole field. Due to my passing abilities I was a team leader in assists for two years. In addition to my soccer success, I have achieved a 4.18 GPA and been inducted into Beta Club.
