I have been swimming with Chattahoochee Gold for eight years, and am currently in the senior-national group. I train for 20 hours each week and in my sophomore year, I was chosen to be the only non-senior team captain while also coaching several groups for Gold on both the pre-comp and competitive teams. In high school swimming, I went from only qualifying for state in one event in my freshman year to qualifying in every event I swam, placing 4th in the 500fr and 5th in the 200IM. At the end of the season, my teammates voted for me to receive the St. Sebastian Award for dedication and faith. In school, I take all the highest classes available while also maintaining high A's. For my club, I won the Gold Award for the 15-16 boys because of my enthusiasm in training despite my busy schedule with swim, school, and coaching. The highlight of my SCY season was the Southeast Meet of Champions, where I had several podium finishes and swam my first-ever NCSA cuts in the 500 and 1000. I'm absolutely thrilled about the idea of training and competing in college and I can't wait to see what the sport has in store for me in the coming years.
