Personal Statement
I am looking to go to a great school that can give me the tools I need to make it in the medical field upon graduation, while devoting myself to a tennis program that would benefit from having myself on the team. This trade, I believe, would be a benefit for both of us as I have so much to contribute in being a student and athlete. Even though I have only done tennis since freshman year of high school, I have improved my game every year because I made myself dedicated every year and summer. I am Mountain Range's 2 Singles. I became team captain and a leader to my whole team and found even more drive and excitement from the game by helping others who started the same way I did. I worked with a trainer over the summer and played almost everyday to do better in tournaments. I am very dedicated as I have been in wrestling for over 10 years which is a sport that requires lots of dedication, and discipline. What makes me different from other athletes is that I got a spinal infusion in November of 2016 because I had scoliosis. The doctors told me I wouldn't be able to wrestle but if I worked hard enough everyday I could be even better at tennis than I was before. That was the toughest 6 months of my life but now I am fully cleared to improve even more and achieve my goals, and have been a miracle to my doctors as I am now better than before with no limitations. I look at my surgery as a stepping stone to better myself in tennis and all I do in life from here on out. I believe that even though I only picked up a racket my freshman year I have done more than a lot of other athletes who start a new sport, by training twice as hard, dedicating as much time as I can possibly manage, and feeling passionate about the sport. if your reading this then you obviously clicked on my profile because of a spark of interest, please contact me, and give me a chance to prove to you how at least looking at me and having a conversation will not be a mistake
