Our People

NCSA's staff of former college athletes, coaches and scouts will help you compete for scholarships. We know who you are: an athlete on the verge of making the next step, confident in your ability to raise your game to the next level, just hoping to be noticed, to be given the opportunity to play your game. We've been there.

Most of our nearly 500-strong staff competed at the college level. Now, working with NCSA allows us to help others earn the same opportunity. For people who know the value of college athletics—who continue to benefit from its lessons and values well beyond the span of a college athletic career—it's just about the most rewarding job you can find. We at NCSA share that viewpoint—and a common passion for what we do. In fact, many of us think of it less as a job and more as a lifestyle. But we don’t just bring a real love for college sports; our people bring decades upon decades of experience in college athletics and beyond.

Ron Higgins

Head Scout
Heidelberg University
For eight years, I recruited student athletes and their families across the country; walking them through the same process I was oblivious too as a high school senior. Armed with the knowledge of the recruiting process I gained through eight years of college coaching, I am excited to join NCSA and provide the guidance through the recruiting process to student athletes that I never received.

I came to NCSA to help athletes and parents realize their goal of a four year collegiate athletic and academic experience translating into a 40 year career.

Working at NCSA enables me to work towards my main goal in software- to create useful things that make a positive impact on people's lives. Helping people find their place in higher education fits this perfectly. The fact that there is a sports angle to NCSA is the icing on the cake.

Christopher Hopps

Scout Manager
Marquette University
When I began working on my master’s degree in Sports Administration, it opened a world of opportunity for me in the sports industry. My passion for athletics and helping others is what brought me to NCSA. I played three sports in high school, and while I was not fortunate enough to play a sport at the collegiate level, had I known about NCSA when I was in high school, I might have been able to.

Jaime Hymer

Head Scout Team Captain
University of Iowa
I came to work at NCSA because sports have done so much for me in life and have helped me succeed. I want families and student athletes to see the possibilities that I missed when getting recruited.

Mike Jelacic

Knowing that the work I do every day is directly giving families opportunities that otherwise wouldn't be possible is the reason I work at NCSA. I am ultimately changing the course of not only one student-athlete's life, but of future generations to come.

Julian Jenkins

All eligible college-bound scholar-athletes should get the opportunity and experience of playing collegiate athletics. College sports is one of the best vehicles to drive education.

Tommy Jerr

Head Scout
University of Arizona & Northern Illinois University
Hard work, Discipline, Time-Management, and Determination: These are a few of the things I learned by playing sports. Becoming a college athlete provided me with more than I could ever had asked for and it helped me achieve my ultimate goal, earning my college degree, a.k.a., my ticket to success in life after college.

Ryan Johansen

After coaching at the college level, helping high school players get recruited, and training young baseball players, I knew that NCSA could help me give back to even more athletes.

Tyrone Johnson

I am on a personal mission to help as many young student athletes pursue their dream of playing collegiate athletics; to be associated with that process and have a positive impact on these young lives will be nothing short of an honor and a privilege for me.

Tim Johnson

Scout Captain
Illinois Wesleyan University
I had gone through the recruiting process myself, however, I navigated it on my own and was not able to maximize my exposure. Because of this, I had limited opportunities for soccer moving forward. I was able to play soccer all four years though and it was a great experience! Playing collegiate soccer was an incredibly great experience for me, and I would like every student-athlete to be able to have the same opportunity.

Essentially, I came to NCSA because it provided me with an opportunity to pursue my passion of athletics, to aid in the continued education of student athletes and to help young people pursue their dreams. My background as a college football player at the University of Montana, and my own experience throughout the recruiting process, will hopefully allow me to guide student athletes in the right direction.

Rachel Kare

Having the opportunity to run track and cross country in college was an amazing experience that taught me many life lessons I use each day. It is because of my college experience that I am so passionate about helping aspiring student athletes achieve their goals of playing sports in college
